At Mauve Robotics, our mission is to inspire and empower the next generation of innovators and problem solvers. We envision a future where every student is equipped with the skills and mindset to tackle real-world challenges through STEM.
Exploring STEM Education
Our programs at Mauve Robotics go beyond traditional learning. We provide extended opportunities for students to delve into the realms of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, fostering a deep understanding and passion for these fields.
Meet our Crew
Deshna Shah
My name is Deshna. FLL coaching started as an experiment for me which is now a passion. First Lego League is a very comprehensive program; it helped me identify my kids' strengths and focus areas. After my first year of coaching, more kids joined and we expanded to taking to next level.
I successfully coached multiple teams to win multiple awards in Western Washington competitions. FLL coaching is my passion and want to provide a safe, fun environment to learn STEM, Innovation and help kids bring their best to the competition. I truly believe in project based, team setting environment prepares kids for real world.
Virti Shah
My name is Virti. I'm currently a middle schooler with four years of experience in robotics. During that time, I've competed at the state level twice, advancing to the highly prestigious WAFFLE competition. My passion is helping others accelerate their growth. I now coach a FIRST Explore team and support multiple FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams by sharing the knowledge I’ve gained to help them reach new levels, faster than I did.
Bhavesh Patel
Hi, I’m Bhavesh. I’ve spent nearly 25 years in the software engineering field and currently work at Microsoft. While I love technology, what truly excites me is sharing that passion with the next generation—especially by helping kids explore, create, and grow through STEM.
About five years ago, I came across the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) while looking for a hands-on, engaging STEM program. It immediately clicked with me. FLL was more than just robotics—it was about teamwork, critical thinking, and igniting curiosity in young minds. Since then, I’ve been deeply involved in the program, mentoring students and watching them transform into confident problem-solvers and creative thinkers.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring and leading a highly recognized team that has won multiple awards - including an Encore challenge award at the FIRST World Championship. Seeing the hard work and creativity of the kids turn into such achievements has been incredibly rewarding.
For me, FLL is the perfect way to give back—to pass on what I’ve learned and to help kids realize their own potential in fun, meaningful ways.
Yagna Patel
Hi, my name is Yagna Patel, and I’m currently a high school student at Lake Washington High School with a strong passion for robotics, coding, and STEM awareness. I’ve been actively involved in FIRST LEGO League (FLL) for several years—participating in FLL Explore for one year and FLL Challenge for three years. During this time in FLL Challenge, my team advanced to the state level three times, and were the Western Washington State Champion, outperforming over 400 teams. With this, we had the honor of competing at the 2024 FIRST World Championship, where we proudly earned first place in the Encore Challenge.
Continuing my robotics journey, I am currently competing in FRC, primarily focusing on the electronics and mechanical side.
My journey has also led me to mentorship where I’ve been coaching three FLL Challenge teams for the past year. I’m especially proud that one of the teams I coach went to the 2025 WAFFLE FLL competition at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
I’m excited to continue sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for robotics, by shaping STEM leaders for the next generation through Mauve Robotics as the Chief Strategic Officer guiding teams to success in their competition.
